| The Ten Commandments |
1. You must not have any other God but me.
-we must love God more than anyone or anything
-anything we love more than God becomes our God instead
- its about your loyalty to god
2. You must not make any idol, nor bow down to one, nor worship it.
-God forbids making statues, bowing down to them or worshiping them.
-not to worship money or clothes or anything else
-its about worshiping God
3. You must not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
-whenever we speak God's name, we must do it reverently
-we must remember how great and a holy a name it is
-do not use it carelessly or thoughtlessly
-do not swear
-its about reverence on God's name
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
-not to work on the Sabbath because God rested on the seventh day after His six days of work
-its about sanctification and relationship with God
5. Honor your Father and your Mother
-we should also obey and respect our parents
-do not delay what they tell us to do
-should not wait to be told
-its about respect for parental authority
6. You must not kill.
-never murder
-do not wish or hope for someone to die thus, we have that wish in our hearts
-its about respect for human life
7. You must not commit adultery.
-do not live with someone else when you are already married
-sleeping together with an opposite sex when you are not married is a sin
-God wants us to be pure in our thoughts, words and actions
-its about purity in relationships
8. You must not steal
-do not take anything that is not yours or that belongs to someone else
-God commands you to give it back or pay for it
-its about honesty
9. You must not tell lies.
-never say anything about someone that is not true
-be careful in saying the truth
-do not add a little or leave out a little when saying the real truth
-its about truthfulness
10. You must not covet anything that is your neighbor's.
-covet means wishing it were yours, do not do this
-God gives us what he wants us to have and what he know is the best
-its about being contented
MY OWN PERSONAL COMMANDMENTS:
1) Do not act like a tool to someone or be submissive.
2) Treat people the way you want to be treated.
3) Think for yourself, control yourself.
4) Do not be afraid to make mistakes or ask questions.
5) Live life and do not waste it.
6) Never do drugs.
7) Never suicide.
8) Do not give up or back down.
9) Have respect for all living things.
10) Do not get mad or be cruel towars others who do not deserve it.
